Expecto Patronum for Monthly Makers
IMG_8211(red800)

So, you may not know, but I'm a major Harry Potter freak, and I also participate in this project called Monthly Makers. I'm one of 12 hosts that do this project, and it's really simple. Every month on the 10th one of us 12 release a theme. This month it's been over at Jessica's blog, and the theme was Magic. On the 25th of the month, the host blogs her project, and on that post you comment with a link to your own blog, where you've done something creative on the theme of the month. The host then summons it all up in a later post.

It's not a competition, we need to push on this. It's here to help people to start creating. To start being creative. And to be the stepping stone to just try new techniques and materials. It's really fun doing this, even the harder themes, and I really feel like we're reaching out to a broad public.

You can find our Facebook-page here, and if you want to check out older stuff you can find a lot on #monthlymakers on Instagram!

So, to get to the point, this pictured above is my project for this months theme! I sew a few of these triangle shapes and painted on the words Expecto Patronum. So now on my wall hangs protection to keep me safe from Dementors. Check out some more pictures on my other blog here.

Papillon
IMG_8011(red800)

One of the cutest dogs I know is this one. His name is Illias, and he belongs to my boyfriends french cousin. He's a Papillon and doesn't understand a lot of Swedish, but body language and tone of voice takes you a long way.

This picture was taken last week, when we went home to visit, and Thalia (my boyfriends cousin) was there visiting as well! We don't see her that often, since she lives in Paris, but when she's up here we try to make it so we can see her.

Do you have any favourite animal? Or maybe a specific breed you prefer when it comes to dogs, cats, rabbits? Tell me in the comments!

Recipe: The Greatest Lemon and Coconut Cake
IMG_7867(red800)

So I found this amazing recipe for a lemon and coconut cake, and I thought I'd share the recipe! I've done this one like four times since I found it, and it's really, really good.

You will need
1 tbsp juice and the zest of 1 lemon
3 eggs
2 dl sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
100 g butter, melted
½ dl milk
1 dl shredded coconut
3 dl wheat flour

Frosting

1 ½ dl powdered sugar

1-2 tbsp lemon juice (or water)

shredded coconut (for garnish)

Put the oven at 180° C. Zest the lemon and squeeze out all of the juice.

Whisk together the eggs and the sugar on high speed until almost entirely white. The longer you whisk, the better the cake. Add baking powder, vanilla sugar, salt, melted butter and milk. Whisk together again.

Add the lemon zest and -juice, shredded coconut and flour. Whisk again, but not for too long. Just enough for it to combine evenly. Butter a bread pan, approximately 10x30 cm large. Pour the batter in it and put it in the lower part of the oven. Bake for 30-50 minutes. I've had various results with the time, but about 50 for the first one, and then 30 for the next one. Just check with a stick to see when it's really done.

Let the cake cool down in the bread pan, for at least 30 minutes (if you can't wait any longer that is). Put it on a plate and let it cool some more while you mix the powdered sugar and the lemon juice from when you pressed the lemon. Pour over the cake, slowly and a little at a time, and then sprinkle some more shredded coconut on it. Eat while fresh, although this one is delicious even a few days after it's baked!

Let me know if you try this recipe, I really loved it myself!

New In: 24mm Camera Lens
IMG_7825(red800)

So a few weeks ago I bought a new piece for my camera, to help me with my photography. It's one that I've been after for a while, since I only do fixed aperture while photographing and I've had problems getting everything in the picture without breaking my neck or moving the camera too much into weird angles.

So this one's a real bargain, since it's pretty cheap, easy to use and also makes for great quality photos! It's new this year, and I've had my eye on it since I found it in January, and I could finally buy it in the beginning of May.

So starting like, tomorrow, a lot of the pictures on here will be taken with this amazing little piece of equipment. Tell me if you like it, cause I sure do!

Book tip: Skymningslandet
IMG_7756(red800)

This is mostly a tip for my Swedish readers, since it's a book tip and a book in Swedish from a Swedish author. But nontheless, it's a great book! And the smoothie next to it is a new favourite of mine, with strawberries, yoghurt, banana and mint leaves. A real hit!

// Boktips on it's way!
